Good to know
- A feature a charger does not implement will not run on it, whatever Flowion supports; the supported devices list shows what each model speaks.
- The charger's outbound port 443 to ocpp.flowion.io must be open, always over wss, never ws.
Capability area
Point chargers of any make that speak OCPP at Flowion.
A charger that speaks OCPP 1.6J, 2.0.1 or 2.1 connects to Flowion with three settings: an address, an id and a password.
A charger opens a secure connection to Flowion itself. You give it three settings: where to connect, its id and its password. Flowion then sets it up and it can charge. Any charger that speaks the industry's open charger protocol can connect, whether or not it is in the device catalogue; the catalogue says where each model's setting lives and what to watch for.
Flowion speaks OCPP 1.6J, 2.0.1 and 2.1. The charger offers the versions its firmware supports, and Flowion answers with the newest one they share. The charger record shows the version it actually negotiated.
Flowion's implementation is backed by its own tests and an audit of the OCPP 1.6 Core and Remote Trigger test cases.
