Supported devices

Any charger that speaks OCPP.

Compatibility here is a protocol question, not a procurement one. Point a station speaking OCPP 1.6J, 2.0.1 or 2.1 at your organization's URL and it connects. What follows is the evidence for that — and the part that actually costs you an afternoon: how each box lets you change its CSMS.

Bench-tested by us: 1 of 85. Every other entry rests on the manufacturer's own documentation or a public compatibility list, and each row says which. The list is dated so you can tell how fresh it is.

Read the labels

How to read this list

Two labels sit on every row and they mean different things. One is what we commit to. The other is who established it — because “supported” earned by reading a datasheet is not the same claim as “supported” earned by plugging one in, and a list that blurs the two is worth nothing.

What we commit to

  • Planned

Not supported today. Either the vendor integration has not been built, or the device's own path to a third-party CSMS is unclear or being withdrawn.

  • Supported

Connects and runs. For OCPP-direct devices this follows from the protocol: the station speaks a version Flowion speaks. Check the evidence grade for who established that.

  • First class

We have run this hardware against Flowion ourselves, recorded the firmware it was running, and written the setup documentation. Nothing reaches this level by assertion.

What backs it

  • Verified

This exact hardware was run against Flowion, on a recorded date and firmware version.

  • Vendor documented

The manufacturer's own documentation states the OCPP support and provisioning path cited.

  • Third-party reported

A curated public compatibility list or another CSMS operator reports it. Reliable enough to plan against, not a substitute for running it.

  • Inferred

Believed to work because it is claimed to speak OCPP, with nothing model-specific behind it. Never enough to claim support.

Protocol versions

Three versions, three different markets

Flowion speaks all three. That is a claim about our side of the socket, and the hardware answering it is at three very different stages.

  • OCPP 1.6J

    Widespread

What essentially every station in the field speaks. The whole OCPP-direct group below rests on it.

  • OCPP 2.0.1

    Growing

OCA certification opened in 2023 and hundreds of products now carry it. Increasingly mandated for public infrastructure, including US NEVI-funded sites.

  • OCPP 2.1

    No hardware yet

Flowion speaks 2.1 today, but this is a CSMS-side capability with almost nothing to talk to: 2.1 was released in 2025 and OCA certification for it is not yet running, so no shipping station below is listed as speaking it. We are ready ahead of the hardware, deliberately, because 2.1 is the version built to carry ISO 15118-20 and bidirectional power.

OCPP direct

The charging station opens its own WebSocket to Flowion. You configure the CSMS URL on the device and it speaks OCPP to us with nothing in between.

This is not an allowlist. Any charger that speaks OCPP 1.6J, 2.0.1 or 2.1 connects to Flowion, whether or not it appears below. The models here are evidence for that, plus the provisioning quirks that are the real work of pointing a box at a new CSMS.

Cloud OCPP

The station talks only to its manufacturer's cloud, which relays OCPP to us. Each vendor's relay has its own onboarding, authentication and capability rules, so every one of these needs an integration built before it works.

Nothing in this group works out of the box. Each entry names the integration it waits on and its status.
